Shehbaz Sharif Biography, He is a Pakistani politician. He is the younger brother of Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. Till now he was the Chief Minister of Punjab city of Pakistan, in 2017 i.e. this year he is the designated Prime Minister of Pakistan.

He belongs to Sharif family. He has been the Chief Minister of Punjab for 3 times. He started many projects like metro bus project in Punjab. Sharif is famous for his laptop scheme in 2016. His life is being shown here.

Shehbaz Sharif Born and Early Life

Shahbaz Sharif was born on 23 September 1951 in Lahore city of Punjab, Pakistan. His father Mian Mohammad Sharif was an upper and middle class businessman and industrialist, and eventually settled in Jati Umra village in the Amritsar district of Punjab in the early 20th century. His mother’s family was a resident of Pulwana. After the movement led by Jinnah in 1947 and his struggle to create Pakistan, his parents moved from Amritsar to Lahore.

Shahbaz Sharif received his bachelor’s degree from the Government College University, Lahore. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he joined his family’s Ittefaq group, in 1985 he was elected president of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Shehbaz Sharif has 2 brothers, one Abbas Sharif and one Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif was elected 3 times as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. His first marriage was with Nusrat Shahbaz in 1973. It had 4 children whose names are Salman, Hamza, Javelia, Rabia. In 2003, he married Tehmina Durrani, the author of ‘My Feudal Lord’. He lives in his ancestral home, Raivind Palace. Shahbaz is a businessman and jointly owner of Ittefaq Group, a multi-million dollar steel conglomerate.

Shehbaz Sharif Political Career

Shahbaz Sharif’s political career began when he was elected to the Punjab Provincial Legislative Assembly in 1988, but his term ended in 1990 when his assemblies were over. In 1990 itself, he was again elected as the Punjab Provincial and National Assembly in the general elections. In 1993, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly for the third time and became the Leader of the Opposition.

At this time he had gone to the United Kingdom for medical treatment. In his absence, Chaudhary Parvez Elahi became the acting leader of the opposition. His term ended in 1996 when the assemblies were closed.

In 1997, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly for the fourth time and this time he took oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab. During his tenure, he was highly praised by the administration for his good efforts in health, education, agriculture and industrial sectors. He started many development projects and took strict action against the criminals to maintain law and order in the province.

But when General Pervez Musharraf became the Chief Executive Officer of the country. Then in 1999, Shahbaz was removed from the post of Chief Minister on the charge of ordering judicial killings and both the Sharif brothers were taken into custody. After a secret agreement, the entire Sharif family was transferred to Saudi Arabia. Pervez Musharraf said that he himself had demanded for this. However, Shahbaz claims that he is not part of any deal.

After this, he tried to come to Pakistan in 2004 but he was removed from the airport in Lahore. He was elected as the President of the Muslim League at the time of his exile, and continues to hold this position.

In 2007, he returned to Pakistan with Nawaz Sharif. Sharif was not allowed to participate in the 2008 general election because of the murder charge. But he was acquitted of these charges in 2008. In the by-election held in June 2008, he was elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly for the second time and he became the Chief Minister for the second time in 2008.

But this time also his term ended in 2009 itself. A 3-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared him ineligible, and he had to step down from the post of Chief Minister once again. But after a meeting of the Supreme Court again, he changed his decision and he again took the post of Chief Minister.

After this, in the general elections held in 2013, he was again elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly and he once again got the opportunity to become the Chief Minister. In 2016, Sharif was elected in an intra-party election after being elected as the president of the Punjab chapter of the Muslim League of Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif Prime Minister

The name of the then Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif surfaced in the Panama Papers leak case, due to which he had to resign. Therefore, the name of Shahbaz Sharif has emerged as the designated Prime Minister of Pakistan in its place.
